Can't Keep Track Of Your Child's Immunization Schedule? Now Try This!

Parents have so much to keep track of for their children and vaccinations are no different.  Since children may receive up to 24 vaccinations to protect them from up to 14 diseases in the first six years of their life, it is not uncommon for parents to become confused in regards to which vaccines their children need and when.    Fortunately, Every Child By Two (ECBT) understands the needs of parents and has come to their rescue.
As part of an initiative that began during National Immunization Awareness month, ECBT has created two new tools to help parents better adhere to and comprehend the recommended childhood immunization schedule.
The first is an immunization schedule tool which can be launched from parents’ computers and smart phones, and is perfect for busy and on-the-go parents.  By entering a child’s birth date, the tool generates the recommended immunization schedule for that child.  Since the majority of immunizations occur in the early years, the tool is specifically designed to apply to children up to age six.   Parents are given the option to provide an e-mail address which enables the system to generate automatic reminders when the child is due to receive an immunization.   The reminder prompts parents to make the necessary appoinment with their health care provider and helps to ensure that children will remain up-to-date on all their important immunizations.
Recently, Amy Pisani, Executive Director of Every Child By Two, explained this new tool in an interview with a local NBC News affiliate in CT.  [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QAYzjxGnnI]
The second tool that became availabe is a bookmark and coloring book which can be downloaded and printed by parents, health care providers, clinics and  immunization program managers. It features child-friendly language and zoo characters that remind children and their parents to protect themselves from vaccine-preventable diseases.  Why not visit the Vaccinate Your Baby website and download these tools for your child today.  As parents, we need to teach our children that immunizations are our way of protecting them from serious illness and disease.  Of course, we also encourage you to share these tools with your friends and health care providers.
