Vaccine Advocates Gone Wild: Penn & Teller take on Anti-Vaccine Extremists.

Surprising, but true, Penn & Teller may have just provided some of the most entertaining vaccine related coverage I’ve ever seen.  First, let me just say that the Showtime airing of the Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t episode, entitled “Vaccination” is like no other vaccine coverage you have ever seen.  Which is why you have got to see it.
A warning however.  It is not for the easily offended.  The program is rated for “Mature Audiences Only” and rightfully so since it includes a great deal of profanity throughout and even a brief scene of nudity at the end.  The frequent use of the “F-bomb”, dropped ever so purposely throughout the program, represents Penn’s  in-your-face style, that makes him so wildly passionate and on the verge of outrageous.  Of course, Teller, as the quiet side kick, also contributes to the program’s quirky combination of medical science vs. anti-vaccine quackery.
Make no mistake about it.  This is an episode you just can’t miss!  It gets right to the point of dispelling much of the common anti-vaccine sentiment.  Right from the opening scene, the show is effective at convincing viewers that the scientific fact is that vaccines are effective at saving lives.  But the entertainment factor comes mostly from the outrageous comments you will hear from the anti-vaccine people who shockingly agreed to appear on this program.  (If I shared their comments, you wouldn’t even believe it.)
The show will continue to air on Showtime throughout the month.  Simply search for Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t, episode #10 entitled “Vaccinations” for repeated airings throughout the remainder of the month.  Thanks to a resourceful science blog, called Respectful Insolence, you can also view it as part of a recent post here
